Managing Director, Chief Legal Officer, responsible for legal operations and strategy, and structuring, execution and management of principal transactions.  Rick has over 30 years of experience as an advisor and principal innovating, structuring and executing debt and equity financing, and commercial real estate, renewables, media and IP investment transactions, and serving as strategic thought partner for companies scaling their business and managing through inflection points.  

  • 30+ years of experience in capital markets, investment funds, corporate finance, structured finance, M&A and restructuring
  • General Counsel and Managing Director of Fortress Investment Group’s Credit & Real Estate fund business, and managed all legal operations as AUM grew from $3B to over $32B, including structuring, financing, diligence, and execution of investments on a global basis in distressed and undervalued real estate and other tangible and intangible assets (including capital assets, natural resources and intellectual property), securities, and direct lending; asset and litigation management and resolution.
  • Founder of American Commercial  Capital, LLC ("ACC"), a commercial finance and investment banking company focused on providing capital and advisory services to companies in the multi-unit retail industry, which was acquired by Wells Fargo & Company in 2002.
  • Partner and Co-Head of the Structured Finance Group at Battle Fowler LLP in New York, New York and pioneered securitization of business loans and other esoteric asset classes
